JDB Communications, LLC is proud to announce the publication of This Redhead: The Dialogues.
This Redhead consists only of external dialogues between two characters, Blondie and Red. There are no non-verbal narratives nor any internal dialogues. There are no quotation marks for what they say; just those in their dialogues, nor “he said” nor “she sighed” nor “they cried” tags. You will read of no facial expressions that they don’t talk about, no un-noticed reactions or un-vocalized thoughts.
Best…read…slowly
Most of the story takes place in either a two-bedroom, two-story, bath-and-a-half townhouse on a quiet rural/suburban street, or in a neighborhood tavern. The buildings in the neighborhood are close enough together that the comings-and-goings of neighbors are not a mystery, nor are some of their other activities. There are no scenes set; no transitional segues described outside their dialogues.
Hey, there, cowboy…
Hi…
Want some company…?
O…K…
Crowded…ain’t it…?
Well, it’s New Years’…most bars are crowded on this auspicious day, yes.
Aus…uhn, yeah, sure…so…make some room at the bar, here…
O…K…
This Redhead will require more of your imagination than any other story you have ever read. As their dialogues are very personal to them, so too will the scene settings become personal to you…
You’re kinda slow on the uptake, cowboy…
What do you mean?
You haven’t even asked me my name…
I’ll just call you Red. You should be used to that.
OK…yeah…I am…
Take my stool…you’re half on it, anyway. I sit most of the day…
Thanks, Blondie…you should be used to that moniker… yours is ash-blonde…
You’re welcome. Actually, yeah, I am…
You will be surprised at how absorbing a reading experience This Redhead will be.
You know I’m trying to pick you up, right…?
Um…I’ve never been…not…exactly…
Never been picked up before…?
My experience with pickups starts when I ask ‘can I buy you a drink,’ and ends with, ‘sure, but I’ll drink it over there while you’re here…’
Available at your favorite booksellers today, or…yeah, ask for the autograph in paperback…hard to do for the ebook, though…
