And JDBCOM Tries Again...And Again...
Yeah, you’ve heard it before: I’m trying to sell books.
For those of you who followed my blog on WordPress, this is the new home. For those who tried to follow me on LinkedIn, ditto. And Facebook.
The intent here is to develop a whole new kind of model: straight to the mailbox and, in the sweet bye and bye, maybe a subscription version I can make a couple of buck off of…and of course a platform to sell books. Here’ I’ll talk about works in progress, and about history and technology and writing and a little about my life in general
Kinda like those other platforms, just a simpler and more cost-effective platform.
Work In Progress
Right now, I have three books in process: Steele’s Hammer, Lenny and Max, and This Redhead. How I got three so different works moving simultaneously is a mystery for the ages.
Steele’s Hammer
This is a book I’ve always wanted to write. It takes place in North Africa, Italy, and Luxembourg during WWII. The lead character, Ned Steele, is a senior US Army officer whose wife and son were trapped in the Philippines when the Japanese invaded in 1941. Steele wanted to get back there, but events conspired…
Now he commands troops in the European Theater, finally at the edge of the Battle of the Bulge. Expect to see Steele’s Hammer next year.
Lenny and Max: A Child’s Primer to Loss
This is a children’s book based on…eh, long story. Lenny is a yellow cat; Max is a big black dog. Lenny and Max are friends who experience the loss of a friend and discuss what it's like on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Expect to see Lenny and Max at the end of the year.
This Redhead
Red rents a room from Blondie.
This narrative experiment is told in dialog, with no scene descriptions, no “he said/she said,” not even any quotation marks. There are two characters, period. They live under the same roof, but their lives are separate. She tends bar; he writes technical manuals. He has no family to speak of, but what there was of it was not nice. Her family is huge, and it has issues. Yet, their life together is rich beyond compare.
Expect to see This Redhead by the end of the year.

The Past Not Taken: Three Novellas
For those of you who have NOT yet gotten the latest from JDB Communications, LLC, The Past Not Taken hit the shelves in late February. It’s about two people and how history is written. Not just their history, which is based on a fib, but everyone’s history, which is often based on convenience.
Hint: history ain’t always based on facts.
